Meeting Ideas

    At one time or another you will find that you might have run out of ideas to both entertain or train your members at your chapter meetings. Please feel free to use this list or any part of it to spice up your chapter, or submit your own

  1. Rearrange the tables.
  2. RUN THE ENTIRE MEETING BACKWARDS.
  3. Do a theme night. Decorate the room with the theme.
  4. Have a wine tasting night.
  5. Speak-up topic: Have everyone tell one of his or her Holiday Traditions.
  6. Have tables covered with a different colored tablecloth using the rainbow colors: ROYGBP. Have tags in a bag with one of the colors, as members come in have them draw a tag and sit at the table of the color they pulled from the bag.
  7. Invite a speaker on stress reduction.
  8. Play musical chairs in the middle of the meeting.
  9. Post a “Humor Board” in your meeting room. Have people bring humorous comics, quotes, etc. to post on the board.
  10. Have a funniest cartoon contest. Award prizes for the funniest comic strip brought in.
  11. Pizza party night!!! Everyone chips in.
  12. Have a Negativity or Swear Jar. Anytime anyone says something negative or inappropriate puts a quarter in the jar. Money goes to pizza party fund or charity.
  13. Have treats as prizes for anyone who participates during the meeting.
  14. Invite a sign language instructor to teach a few words.
  15. Have a 50/50 raffle. ˝ goes to the winner, the other ˝ to a charity of the winning members’ choice.
  16. Number the seats out of order and as people sign in, have them find their corresponding seat number. This is a great way to break up "cliques" and introduce people to people they may not have met or talked to before!
  17. Add an agenda line: For the good of the chapter (for member announcements, thank-you to the organization, etc.)
  18. Have “Joke of the day”.
  19. Have members write their own biography on a 3x5 card.
  20. Appoint a Director of Fun, to come up with fun activities.
  21. Play Jaycee Trivia games.
  22. Tape candy/chocolates under chairs. Tell members about their “surprise” under the chair during the meeting.
  23. “Around the World” theme night. Everyone bring a dish from a different country and tell a little about the country.
  24. Invite a financial planner to your meeting.
  25. Start an ONTO Travel Club. One chapter does a 50/50 raffle. ˝ to the winner and ˝ to the travel accounts of those paid members in attendance.
  26. Have a Cinco de Mayo night with Tacos, etc. Invite someone to talk about a Quinceaneros.
  27. Speak-Up topic: Tell about your first: First day at work, first car, first used a computer, first date, first speeding ticket.
  28. Tell ghost stories.
  29. Invite another chapter to attend your meeting.
  30. Invite a Toastmasters Member to come speak at your meeting.
  31. Have a Chinese New Year night and invite a speaker on Chinese culture.
  32. Have a language instructor teach some phrases on a different language.
  33. Have a debate with ˝ the room for a topic and ˝ against the topic.
  34. Have a jam session about anything.
  35. Invite the Mayor to talk about the city’s goals and how your chapter can help.
  36. Have a network night, bring lots of business cards from your business.
  37. Invite the local police force K-9 unit to come speak at the meeting with the drug dog.
  38. Have everyone tell something about themselves as they introduce themselves at the beginning of the meeting.
  39. Do a survey.
  40. Have a member bring a hobby to share with other members either before, during or after the meeting.
